Winter Funding for Well Beings group

The Board is pleased to announce that funding has been secured for the next three years to cover the cost of the Well Beings group playing their winter sessions indoors at Aztech.

Some of our members will be familiar with the role of the Well Beings group within the Club, but for those who have joined more recently, we thought it would be useful to explain more about the sessions.

Well Beings sessions take place every Wednesday from 12.00pm to 1.00pm and are open, free of charge, to participants with medical conditions or those recovering from surgery or injuries. This includes post-match tea or coffee.

Participants must be accompanied by a carer. Our Well Beings coaching team, led by John Casey, will assess new participants before they are admitted to the sessions. John’s contact details can be found on our website.

We are extremely grateful to the trustees of The Pargiter Trust for providing this funding, which will enable our Well Beings group to continue playing walking football indoors during the inclement winter weather.

Mike Starkey, a Trustee of The Pargiter Trust said  “The Pargiter Trust is focused on supporting older people to be independent, healthy and socially included. This is delivered by working closely with Community Foundations and other charities, to support grassroots projects whose objectives are compatible with our own. Guernsey Walking Football Club’s aims and values identify very closely with our own.”
